Motorcycle display sets for dealer showrooms

Truly global project

For our long-term customer, we worked on a project for their new motorcycle model, the Pan America™. With this program, we produced and delivered new H-D Pan America™ display sets to 900 dealers in 47 countries on 6 continents.

Big project, short timeframe

We finalised the display design details and technical solutions in Q4 of 2020 and supplied the sets worldwide in Q1 of 2021.

Design Engineering to support brand image

After receiving a visual concept of the display, we worked out the solution and the technology to create the desired „aged black finish” of the final products. The overall display finish reflects the H-D brand authenticity.

For bigger and smaller budget

We worked out 2 display set versions to meet the budget restraints of dealers: a low-cost version with a printed base and a premium version with aged metal.

Manufacturing model for cost optimisation

Having solid manufacturing and engineering experience, we tested a few potential finishes of the display versus the final visual result, possibility of serial manufacture and total costs. The final solution was carefully documented to ensure repeatable manufacture in both Europe and China – the proven operations model we have built over the last 10 years to offer our customer the best cost efficiency through in-region manufacture.

Safety first and foremost

To improve the safety and functionality of the units we engineered our own joining elements, different shape of the motorcycle wheel clamp and added safety belts. We tested the upgraded technical solution at a local dealer and measured the stability using different rider weights, etc. And, finally, few select dealerships worldwide received the product prototypes for testing before serial production kicked off.
